Welcome, Cheeseheads.

Who am I? My name is Jeremy, but on the internet, through message boards and other places where you need a "nickname", I go by TheVegas. What this is going to end up being (This is my first ever blog, so give me a little time to get used to everything) is a blog dedicated to anything and everything involving the Green Bay Packers. I've been an obsessed Packers fan for as long as I can remember. In fact, when I was born, my father wrapped me up in a James Lofton jersey, so I can literally say I've been a fan since Day 1. I'm 20 years old, entering my junior year of college in the city of Lancaster, located in Pennsylvania. The college is not actually in the city, but right outside of it. We are home of the Amish as well as 2006 Tour de France winner Floyd Landis. Don't know if that rings a bell to anyone, but I figured I would mention it anyhow.

Lucky for me, I grew up watching the Packers in the mid 90s, one of the best times to be a Packer fan, as I got to watch one of the best QBs to ever play the game and lucky enough to witness at a young age (9) the Lombardi Trophy coming back to Green Bay, where it rightfully belongs. My father told me I was rather spoiled growing up during my era as a Packer fan, as I didn't witness a losing season until their 4-12 year in 2005, and didn't have to live through the 70s and 80s when we had a whooping 4 winning seasons. I never saw another QB besides #4 line up under center throughout my memory of Packer games (until this year, of course.) Living in Pennsylvania, the Packers are obviously not on TV every week and I sure as hell wasn't going to watch the Eagles instead. With a local sports bar right down the street from me, I was still able to see almost every Packer game throughout my childhood and teenage years. Going off to college, I no longer had that conveniance but I'm now a subscriber to NFL.com's Field Pass, so I hear the games on the radio live, when they aren't on TV. What I'm trying to say is that I'm dedicated, as all Packer fans should be. I will admit that it has been easy being a Packers fan during my time, as I mentioned before, with not having to deal with losing seasons, poor coaching (maybe not including Ray Rhodes) missing the playoffs often, or much off the field trouble with the players we have come to love. But I can say with confidence that not much would change about my fanhood if the Packers were to come across numerous losing seasons in the future (except increased insults from my friends). I would still bleed green and gold and I know all of my fellow Packers faithful would do the same. That's what makes us so special.

Anyhow, why am I here? Obviously, to speak my mind. I recently got into reading more and more Packer blogs the past couple of months. Some of my favorites include Packer Geeks, Railbird Central, Brats and Beer, Acme Packing Company, Cheesehead TV, and Tundra Vision. All have a lot to say and I sincerely enjoy keeping up with each one of them nearly every day. I love hearing what other fans have to say about our beloved franchise. I thought creating my own blog would keep me busy for the summer (home from college) and give others a chance to see what another one of their diehards has to say about the Pack. I'll do my best to keep it updated as often as possible. Even if only a handful of readers checks it out, that's fine by me. I'm just looking to put to words my many, many thoughts on everything Packers.

I hope you enjoyed this little introduction and don't forget to check back often!
